Biography
Dr. Brahim Aïssa (Ph.D. Materials Science, INRS-EMT, University of Quebec, Canada, 2010) has extensive experience in the area of nanomaterials. He is fellow of the UNESCO Chair in Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion, Saving and Storage since Jan. 2015. His activities focus on the growth, synthesis, processing and characterization of advanced materials and their integration into electronic and photonic devices. He has worked for MPB Technologies Inc. at the department of Smart Materials and Sensors for Space missions from 2009 to 2014. He has authored more than 80 refereed journal papers, 80 international conferences, 5 book-chapters, two books and holds as well one patent. He is a regular referee for more than 48 scientific journals and associate editor in 7 journals, including Frontiers in materials (Nature Publishing Group). Dr. Brahim has numerous international awards, including the prestigious NPI award from European space agency, the Australian Endeavour fellowship, and the NSERC R&D industrial fellowship. His PhD and MSc theses were awarded by the Top prize for the best scientific achievement and part of his work was selected in the best TOP-10 scientific discovery in Canada (2009). He has joined HBKU University as Associate Professor.

plasma synthesis of structured materials (bulk, thin films, and nanoparticle) and their applications in electronic and energy sciences. electronic and optoelectronic properties of advanced materials,design/synthesis novel structures with a controlled composition, morphology and dimension for PV, electronic and space applications.
